Carson County District Court hears 13 pleas

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, 13 pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Carson County.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Dale Rabe, Jr., presiding.

Curry Matthew Gibson, 41, from Lubbock, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the second degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Gibson was arrested in Carson on May 26, 2021. Gibson pleaded to an information on July 14, 2023.

The State filed its motion to adjudicate on Sept. 26, 2024, alleging six violations of community supervision. Gibson pleaded true to all the violations.

Gibson was also ordered to pay the remaining $500 fine, $630 in restitution, and $340 in court costs.

Ruben James Hogue, 30, from White Deer, was sentenced to six years in prison for the third degree felony offense of injury to an elderly person.

Hogue was arrested by Carson County Chief Deputy J.C. Blackburn on Nov. 4, 2023. Hogue pleaded guilty to the offense on Jan. 11, 2024.

The State filed its motion to adjudicate on July 24, alleging three violations of community supervision. Hogue pleaded true to all the violations.

Hogue was also ordered to pay the remaining $500 fine and $340 in court costs.

Michael Brett Ward, 45, from Sharon, Okla., was sentenced to 17 months in prison for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Ward was arrested in Carson County on Sept. 16, 2022. Ward pleaded guilty to the offense on Feb. 7, 2023.

The State filed its motion to adjudicate on Dec. 10, 2024, alleging eight violations of community supervision. Ward pleaded true to all the violations.

Ward was also ordered to pay the remaining $2,500 fine, $180 in restitution, and $340 in court costs.

Isaac Guia Torres, 39, from Pampa, was convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison for the third degree felony offense of driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. After being convicted, Torres was placed on seven years probation.

Torres was arrested by Carson County Deputy China Alexander on Aug. 19, 2024. Torres was indicted by a Carson County Grand Jury on March 27.

Torres was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, $305 in court costs, $60 lab fee restitution, complete 200 hours of community service, and comply with all DWI requirements under chapter 49 of the Texas Penal Code.

Holly Leann Rose, 39, from Panhandle, was placed on four years probation for the third degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Rose was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Oct. 3, 2024. Rose pleaded to an information filed by the State on Dec. 9, 2024.

Rose was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine, $450 in attorney fees, $180 in restitution, $305 in court costs, and complete 200 hours of community service. If revoked, Rose faces up to ten years in prison.

Shennan Ellie Martinez, 50, from Amarillo, was placed on six years probation for the state jail felony offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, enhanced with two previous institutional division convictions to a second degree felony.

Martinez was arrested by Panhandle Police Officer Sace Hardeman on July 7. Martinez pleaded to an information filed by the State on Aug. 25.

Martinez was ordered to pay a $6,000 fine, $500 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $1,500 in restitution and complete 300 hours of community service. If revoked, Martinez faces up to 20 years in prison.

Jeneissa Megan Jones, 39, from White Deer, was placed on three years probation for the state jail felony offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Jones was arrested by Carson County Sheriff’s Deputy Ethan Derrick on March 26, 2024. Jones pleaded guilty to an information on May 29.

Jones was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $2,370.44 in restitution, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Jones faces up to two years in prison.

Zane Conner Hackett, 24, from Panhandle, was placed on five years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Hackett was arrested in Carson County by Hardeman on March 25, 2024. Hackett pleaded guilty to an information on May 28, 2024.

Hackett was ordered to pay $180 in restitution, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Hackett faces up to two years in prison.

Andrew Edmund Correll, 38, from Groom, was placed on two years probation for the third degree felony of deadly conduct.

Correll was arrested in Carson County on June 18, 2023. Correll was indicted by a Carson County Grand Jury on Jan. 30.

Correll was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and $305 in court costs and successfully complete 200 hours of community service. If revoked, Correll faces up to ten years in prison.

Justin Lee Wayne Thomas, 37, from Amarillo, was placed on two years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Thomas was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on April 24, 2024. Thomas pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on Sept. 16, 2024.

Thomas was ordered to pay a $3,500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Thomas faces up to two years in prison.

Heather Ann Lucero, 51, from Amarillo, was placed on two years probation for the Class A misdemeanor offense of deadly conduct.

Lucero was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Oct. 1, 2023. Lucero was indicted by a Carson County Grand Jury on Jan. 30.

Lucero was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine, $305 in court costs, $60 lab fee, and complete 100 hours of community service. If her probation is revoked, Lucero faces up to one year in the Carson County Jail.

Jakie Jordan Posey, 26 from Amarillo, was placed on two years probation for two different class A misdemeanor charges of assault.

Posey was arrested by Panhandle Police Officer Brandon Sims on May 25, 2024 for both offenses. Posey was indicted by the Carson County Grand Jury on Jan. 30.

Posey was ordered to pay two upfront fines of $4,000, $610 in court costs, and $1,000 in attorney fees, as well as completing 100 hours of community service. If convicted, Posey faces up to one year in the Carson County Jail.
