Liberty School House moves to town!

Carson County’s lone remaining one-room schoolhouse, Liberty School, was moved from its original location on U.S. Highway 60 West and Farm-to-Market 2363, to its new local on 4th Street between Main Street and Euclid Avenue, just south of the Carson County Library – Panhandle, at 400 Main Street.

The long anticipated move of the only remaining Carson County one-room schoolhouse, Liberty School, was completed last Tuesday, April 28. The move and restoration is a project of the Carson County Historical Commission. The school will be restored to its earlier times, allowing a look back to how public education began in Carson Country.

The schoolhouse dates back to the early 1900s when the farming community of Liberty was began.

Keeping watching and looking to see the transformation of this historical treasure!
