Carson County 100th District Court – Oct. 14, 2025
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, 17 pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Carson County.
Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Dale Rabe, Jr., presiding.

Jose Manuel Bejar
Jose Manuel Bejar, 39, from Oxnard, Calif., was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the first degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Bejar was arrested in Carson County by then DPS Trooper Max Honesto, now with the Texas DPS Ranger Division, on Aug. 21, 2014. Bejar originally pleaded guilty on Dec. 9, 2014.
The State filed its motion to adjudicate on April 23, 2020, alleging five violations of community supervision. Bejar pleaded true to all of the violations.
Bejar was also ordered to pay a $8,000 fine, $336 in court costs, and $486.95 in restitution.

Joshua Dwayne Brookshire
Joshua Dwayne Brookshire, 47, from Pampa, was sentenced to five years in prison for the third degree felony offense of driving while intoxicated, 3rd or more.
Brookshire was arrested by Carson County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Daniels on Dec. 23, 2021. Brookshire was indicted by the Carson County Grand Jury on Dec.7, 2023. Brookshire originally pleaded guilty on April 16, 2024.
The State filed its motion to adjudicate on Sept. 2, alleging two violations of community supervision. Brookshire pleaded true to all of the violations.
Brookshire was also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine and $340 in court costs.
Regional John Holback, 35, from Charleston, S.C., was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the third degree felony offense of unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, enhanced to a second degree due to another prior felony conviction.

Holback was arrested in Carson County by then DPS Trooper Micah Goodrich, now with DPS CID Division, on Sept. 2, 2021. Holback originally pleaded guilty on Nov. 22, 2022.
The State filed its motion to adjudicate on Aug. 22, 2024, alleging four violations of community supervision. Holback pleaded true to all of the violations.
Holback was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and $340 in court costs.
Leonel Escobar-Munoz, 29, from Lynwood, Calif., was placed on six years probation for the second degree felony offense of possession of marijuana.
Escobar was arrested in Carson County by DPS Trooper Cade Young on Aug. 21. Escobar pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on Oct. 14.
Escobar was also ordered to pay a $6,000 fine, $500 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 in restitution, $500 transfer fee, and complete 300 hours of community service. If revoked, Escobar faces up to 20 years in prison.
Donanne Janette Woodruff, 51, from Lubbock, was placed on two years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Woodruff was arrested by Carson County Sheriff’s Deputy China Alexander on May 23. Woodruff pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on July 15.
Woodruff was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 lab fee, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Woodruff faces up to two years in prison.
Cody Ryley Rodriguez, 24, from Amarillo, was placed on three years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
Rodriguez was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Dec. 24, 2023. Rodriguez pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on March 8, 2024.
Rodriguez was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 lab fee, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Rodriguez faces up to two years in prison.
Krystal Jeanette Ramirez, 35, from Pampa, was placed on two years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
Ramirez was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Feb. 1. Ramirez pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on May 29.
Ramirez was ordered to pay a $500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 in lab fee restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Ramirez faces up to two years in prison.
Christopher Chance Greer, 46, from White Deer, was placed on four years probation for the third degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Greer was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on May 22. Greer pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on July 15.
Greer was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine, $450 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 lab fee, and complete 200 hours of community service. If revoked, Greer faces up to ten years in prison.
April Marie Brown, 26, from Amarillo, was convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison for the third degree felony offense of driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. After being convicted, Brown was placed on three years probation.
Brown was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Aug. 15, 2024. Brown was indicted by a Carson County Grand Jury on Jan. 30.
Brown was also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine, $305 in court costs, $60 lab fee restitution, complete 200 hours of community service, and comply with all DWI requirements under Chapter 49 of the Texas Penal Code.
Marlin Johnson, 71, from Vidalia, Ga., was sentenced to two days in the Carson County Jail for the Class A misdemeanor offense of possession of marijuana.
Johnson was arrested in Carson County by 100th Judicial District Traffic Enforcement Division Officer Todd Gambol on March 6. Johnson pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on May 29.
Johnson was ordered to pay an upfront fine of $4,000 fine, $305 in court costs, and $550 lab fee restitution.
Camdyn Michael Oswalt, 18, from White Deer, was placed on two years probation for the class A misdemeanor offense of evading arrest.
Oswalt was arrested in Carson County by Alexander on Aug. 25, 2024. Oswalt was indicted by the Carson County Grand Jury on March 27.
Oswalt was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Oswalt faces up to one year in Carson County jail.
Arthur Eugene Pirtle, 51, from Las Vegas, Nev., was convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison for the first degree felony offense of possession with intent to deliver, cocaine. After being convicted, Pirtle was placed on eight years probation.
Pirtle was arrested in Carson County by DPS Trooper Edgar Castillo on June 11, 2024. Pirtle pleaded to an information filed by the State on Sept. 16, 2024.
Pirtle was also ordered to pay a $8,000 fine, $305 in court costs, and $180 lab fee restitution.
Lakita Griffin, 47, from Fresno, Calif., was placed on two years probation for the third degree felony offense of money laundering.
Griffin was arrested by Carson County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Wadsworth on Aug. 25, 2021. Griffin was indicted by the Carson County Grand Jury on Dec. 7, 2023.
Griffin was ordered to pay a $500 fine, $450 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and complete 200 hours of community service. If revoked, Griffin faces up to ten years in prison.
Griffin was also placed on two years probation for the third degree felony offense of failure to appear.
Griffin was arrested by Carson County Sheriff Tam Terry after being indicted by the Carson County Grand Jury on March 28, 2024. Griffin failed to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2024, which is a third degree felony.
“After having a stretch of docket days back in 2021 where multiple defendants were not appearing for their court dates, we started a new initiative of going forward on these new felony offenses and taking their cases to grand jury,” said Inman. “Several years later, we are seeing the number of defendants showing up for court increasing, which was our main objective. However, we still have some that do not appear and they increase the overall time they could spend in the pen significantly.”
Griffin was ordered to pay $450 in attorney fees and $305 in court costs. If revoked, Griffin faces up to ten years in prison.
Due to this being a separate third degree offense, Griffin faces another ten year sentence if revoked and the two cases could be stacked by Rabe, according to Inman.
George Tanner Courson, 25, from Crossett, Ark., was placed on two years probation for the class A misdemeanor offense of possession of marijuana
Courson was arrested by Carson County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy J.C. Blackburn on July 19. Courson pleaded to an information filed by the State on Sept. 3.
Courson was ordered to pay an upfront fine of $3,500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, and $180 in restitution. If revoked, Courson faces up to one year in Carson County jail.
Courson was also placed on two years probation for the class A misdemeanor of unlawful use of a criminal instrument from another charge on the same date.
Courson was ordered to pay another upfront $4,000 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $180 in drug lab restitution, $305 in court costs, and 100 hours of community service. If revoked, Courson faces up to one year in the Carson County jail.
Kaydi Leann King, 32, from Borger, was placed on three years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
King was arrested in Carson County by Blackburn on March 2. King pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on May 29.
King was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $400 in attorney fees, $305 in court costs, $180 lab fee, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If revoked, King faces up to two years in prison.
