Carson County District Court adjudicates three
Panhandle – On Wednesday, Feb. 5, five pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Carson County.
Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Dale Rabe, Jr., presiding.
Stephanie Rochin Cota, 29, from Phoenix, Ariz., was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the first degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance that occurred in Carson County on Dec. 3, 2017.
Cota was placed on probation on May 1, 2018. On Sept. 24, 2019 the State filed its motion requesting the Court to adjudicate Cota’s probation, alleging eight violations of her conditions of probation. Cota pleaded true to the allegations.
Cota was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and $336 in court costs.
Dakota James Young, 34, from Amarillo, Texas, was sentenced to 20 months in the penitentiary for the state jail felony offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle that occurred in Carson County on Jan. 2, 2023.
Young was placed on probation on April 4, 2023. On Sept. 10, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the Court to adjudicate Young’s probation, alleging five violations of his conditions of probation. Young pleaded true to the allegations.
Young was also ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $340 in court costs.
Kavion Kentrell Talley, 26, from Little Rock, Ark., was sentenced to 20 months in the penitentiary for the state jail felony offense of possession of marijuana that occurred in Carson County on May 27, 2021.
Talley was placed on probation on April 4, 2024. On June 24, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the Court to adjudicate Talley’s probation, alleging five violations of his conditions of probation. Talley pleaded true to the allegations.
Talley was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $340 in court costs.
