Charles Duane Horner

Charles Duane Horner, 69 of Panhandle passed away at home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, July 6, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Panhandle. Burial will be at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Charles was born Dec. 17, 1956 in Friona, Texas to Everett Eugene Horner and Veda Jean (Scott) Horner. He was saved and baptized at First Baptist Church in Panhandle.

He ran Magic Circle Drilling for over 40 years, which was his passion in life. Charles was a loyal, good-hearted man and he cherished spending time with his family and friends, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed raising cattle on his land and shared a peaceful home with his wife Sherri.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind his wife, Sherri Spurlin of Panhandle; sons, Charles Lee Horner and wife Amy of Panhandle and Duane Everett Horner and wife Jillian of Amarillo; brother, Everett Horner and wife Cherry of Panhandle; sisters, Kathy Darlean and husband Larry Dunn of Padre Island and Janet and husband Joel Richardson of Amarillo; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
