Leslie James Redwine

Leslie James Redwine was born Dec. 6, 1958, to Lynn and J.L. Redwine in Muleshoe, Texas and died April 20, 2026 at his home in Claude, surrounded by his family.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Claude Cemetery. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Dick Gravley and Reece Watson officiating.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Robertson Claude Chapel.

Leslie told people he was a simple man. He was, and yet his life was marked by an extraordinary relationship with his Savior. Leslie gave his life to Christ when he was 10 years old, and he would tell you that was the most important decision he ever made. Everything Leslie did flowed from his faith in Jesus. He was a faithful servant of God, and he valued his relationship with Christ. He was a member of FBC Claude and loved his church family. He served on various committees throughout the years and as a deacon. He was always willing to serve wherever he was needed. His God given wisdom and discernment marked his leadership within the church and his life.

Aside from his faith, Leslie loved his family most of all. He may have met his wife, Leicia, on a blind date but God had a vision when putting them together. She was the perfect partner for him and they made a strong team serving the Lord together. Leslie loved his two girls. He was an ever present fixture in their life that they could always count on. He led his family by example and took care of them well. He spent most of his life “outnumbered” by women, and was thankful when God brought him a wonderful son-in-law he could visit with. More than anything, Leslie was a proud Gramps to his three grandkids. They brought him joy and he loved spending time with them. He was a caring son, a dependable brother, and a fun uncle.

Leslie found his life’s calling at the ripe old age of 6 when he skipped kindergarten to stay home and farm. While Leslie had different jobs over his life, farming remained his passion and it ultimately became his life’s ministry. He might argue, but he loved to work. He was most fulfilled when doing the work the Lord set before him, and he faithfully stewarded the things God entrusted him with. He loved his “projects.” He could design, build, and fix anything. Leslie met many people while farming, and most of them turned into friends. God would often bring him people to encourage, instruct, and help and he did so with a willing heart. He was a true servant wherever God took him.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Leicia of Claude, daughters Lauren and husband Chip Morris of Vega and Leah Redwine of Claude; grandchildren Rhett, Sutton, and Riggs Morris of Veg; his mother Lynn Redwine of Panhandle; sister, Sharolette and Mike Watson of Dumas; brother Lanny and wife Shannon Redwine of Hereford; and sister Leasha and Gordon Hobbs of Panhandle; sisters-in-law, Renee Brown of Pampa and Audette Rackley of Lewisville; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were like family.

Leslie requested that any donations be made to the direct missions’ fund at FBC Claude.
