Jerry Dale Stanford, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Celebration Family Church with Past0r Dwight Kirsey, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the funeral home.

Jerry was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Wheeler, Texas to Mary Magdelene White and David Albert Stanford. He married Lenora Wright on Nov. 23, 1957, in Borger. Jerry retired as an operator from the refinery. He enjoyed watching television, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and westerns. Jerry was a proud longtime member of the Panhandle Blue Grass and Old Tyme Music Association. He had an amazing sense of humor and always had a joke or prank at the ready. Nothing brough more joy to his life than his family, especially his grandkids, he never missed a birthday parity or event for them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Sanford; wife, Lenora Stanford; son, Perry; sisters, Ollie Stidham, Cordie Knight, Jane Rowe, Mary Helen Smiley, Opaline Flood; and brothers, Aaron Stanford, Johnny Stanford, and Dennis Stanford.

Survivors include his son, Stever Stanford and his wife Ann or Panhandle; grandchildren, Nikki Stanford and husband Kris Allred; Ashly and husband Seth Skelton, Lindsey Stanford and fiancé, Jake Leoppky, and Lane Stanford and fiancé, Jocelyn Brady; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brynn and Lukas Skelton; partner-in-crime, Sylvia Witt; brother, Derrell Stanford and wife, Betty of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
