Amy Carroll Wright, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Pastor Josh Light officiating. Burial will follow at Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
The family will receive guests from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Her memory may be honored with a gift to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 189 Panhandle, Texas 79068 or to a charity of choice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her amazing neighbors and caregivers that she considered family.
Amy was born March 1, 1933, in Lakeview, Texas to and Allie Olene Chandler Bickerstaff and John Sidney Bickerstaff. She married William D. Wright on Oct. 11, 1957. Amy was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Panhandle. She had an amazing thimble collection, enjoyed gardening and reading. Amy was a true social butterfly and just enjoyed quality time visiting with people. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending her grandkids’ activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Allie Bickerstaff; husband, William D. Wright; son, Kylon Sitz; brothers, Riley Zane Bickerstaff, Winfred Keet Bickerstaff; and sister, Sandra Pregartner.
Survivors include her daughters, Alyson Crabtree and husband Clint Walker of Panhandle, Teresa and husband Mike Jeffers of Panhandle, Debbie and husband David Black of New Braunfels, Pam and husband Jerry Burrows of Boerne, Texas; son, Bill Doug and wife Sherry of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Debbie Sitz of Ballinger, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
