Childress County District Court took four pleas; sentences 3 to prison

On Thursday, Feb. 6, four pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Dale Rabe presiding.

Jamie Drew

Jaime Drew, 53, from Childress, Texas, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the second degree felony offense of burglary of a habitation that occurred in Childress County on April 2, 2024.

Drew was originally placed on probation for the offense on June 20, 2024. On Oct. 18, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the Court to revoke Drew’s probation, alleging three violations of her conditions of probation.

Drew was also ordered to pay an $8,000 fine, $500 in attorney fees and $340 court costs.

“Drew has been a thorn in the side of this community for many years,” said Caudle. “Hopefully she doesn’t return upon her release.”

Haily Brooke Kinekole

Haily Brooke Klinekole, 22, from Childress, Texas, was placed on ten years probation for the second degree felony offense of assault on a peace officer.

Klinekole was arrested by Childress Police Officer Chris Palmitier on April 10, 2023. Klinekole was later indicted by the Childress County Grand Jury on June 5, 2024.

Klinekole was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine, $450 in attorney fees, $340 in court costs, and complete 200 hours of community service. If her probation is adjudicated, Klinekole faces up to 20 years in prison.

Jeffrey Lopez-Arias

Jeffrey Lopez-Arias, 34, from Amarillo, Texas, was sentenced to six years in the penitentiary for the third degree felony offense of possession of cocaine that occurred in Childress County on Jan. 3, 2023.

Lopez was placed on probation on April 18, 2024. On July 23, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the Court to adjudicate Lopez’s probation, alleging five violations of his conditions of probation. Lopez pleaded true to the allegations.

Lopez was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $340 in court costs.

Willie Milton Davis, 39, from Childress, was sentenced to 32 years in the penitentiary for the first degree felony offense of aggravated sexual assault of a child that occurred in Childress County on January 18, 2012.

Davis was placed on probation on Aug. 15, 2024. On Dec.18, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the Court to adjudicate Davis’ probation, alleging 11 violations of his conditions of probation. Davis pleaded true to the allegations.

Davis was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and $340 in court costs.
