Little Panthers meet Dalhart team for first full game of season

The Seventh Grade Panthers traveled to Dalhart for their first game of the season. The little Panthers scored first on a safety, but Dalhart came back to win the game 26 – 10.
Panhandle received the opening kickoff and on the second play of the game, Edge Crow made a 57-yard run to Dalhart’s 3. The Panthers were unable to get across the goal line and turned the ball over on downs. Emry Munn made the tackle in the end zone for the safety and Panhandle led 2 – 0 at the end of the first quarter.
Highlights from the second quarter were a sack by Josh McGregor and a 34-yard punt by Crow. With one second left on the clock, Dalhart scored on a 5-yard pass. The PAT attempt was no good, but Dalhart led 6 – 2 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Dalhart scored on a 1-yard run with 32 seconds on the clock. The PAT attempt was no good and Dalhart led 12 – 2 going into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter saw Dalhart score on a 20-yard pass and make a 2-point conversion to lead 20 – 2. With 59 seconds on the clock, Crow scored on a 44-yard run, then ran in the 2-point PAT to make the score Panhandle 10 – Dalhart 20, but seven seconds later, Dalhart returned the kick-off for a touchdown but did not make the PAT. The end score was Panhandle 10 – Dalhart 26.
Shaffer Harris and Crow had five tackles each while Taden Wheeler and Munn had four each. Making two tackles were Daniel Kaluza, Tanner Chitwood, McGregor and Grady McBroom. Credited with one tackle were Wyatt Schubert, Braxton Bonner, Bodhi Crook and Tristian Garza.
