Reynolds sentenced to 15 years by Donley County District Court

On Tuesday, May 27, one plea took place in the 100th Judicial District Court, via the internet-based meeting app Zoom.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the case for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding by assignment.

Jason Thomas Reynolds, 48, originally from Stratford, Texas, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the felony offense of evading arrest in a motor vehicle with a deadly weapon when he was arrested in Donley County on Dec. 24, 2019.

Reynolds was originally placed on eight years probation on May 1, 2023.

On Sept. 12, 2024, the State filed its motion requesting the court to revoke Reynolds’ probation, alleging 14 violations of his conditions of probation.  Reynolds pleaded true to the violations of his community supervision.

Reynolds was also ordered to pay the remaining $500 fine and $340 court costs.

By finding the vehicle was a deadly weapon, Reynolds must complete at least half of his sentence before becoming parole eligible.
