On Wednesday, Jan. 8, one plea took place in the 100th Judicial District Courtroom at the Carson County Courthouse. Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the case for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.
Roy Wayne Tarpley pleaded true and was convicted for the third degree felony offense of forgery. Tarpley was sentenced to six years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Tarpley, 37 from Panhandle, was arrested in Carson County by Panhandle Police Officer Tim McIntosh on Feb. 5, 2018. Tarpley pleaded guilty to an information filed by the State on Sept. 21, 2018.
The state filed its motion to adjudicate on March 6, alleging five violations of community supervision.Tarpley pleaded true to the allegations. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Tarpley is also required to pay a $500 fine and $276 in court costs.
