Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at Potts Chapel in Independence. Graveside services will follow immediately after at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Potts Chapel in Independence.
Bob was born on Feb. 26, 1948, in Monroe, Wisc., to Alvena and Eddie Meier. He attended school in Nora, Ill. and graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Ill., in 1966.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone. He worked as a customer assistant at Sayers Ace Hardware for the past five years. Bob spent his free time watching NASCAR, sports and NCIS. He also enjoyed having coffee on the deck, watching the snoops (squirrels) and hummers, jay jays and sparkles (hummingbirds, blue jays and cardinals). Bob was very loving and kind. He loved picking on his grandkids and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lee Meier.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gareda; brother, Dean Meier and wife, Millie; son, Mark Meier and wife, Marcy; daughter, Michelle Meier-Kiani; son, Mitchell Meier; son, Heath Meier and wife Alissa Meier; son, Robert Meier and wife Maria; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
