REAPS met in Calvary Baptist Church on Feb. 5, 2013. Hosting and serving a delicious brunch were: Nancy Garner, Judy Sherrod and Marie Slover.
Mary Bednorz, Dorothy Broadaway, Kenneth Cox, Wayne Cox, Mary Curtis, Barbara Duncan, Charles Gill, Gary Laramore, Jerilyn Laramore, Ann Metcalf, Jean Miller, Tommye Roark, Elizabeth Smith, Jackie Smith, Jackie Wyatt, the three hostesses and one guest were in attendance. The prayer was given by Charles Gill.
High school art teacher Nancy Riley was introduced by Marie Slover. Mrs. Riley brought samples of art work done by high school students. The work was wonderful. She discussed the overall art program. Mrs. Riley conducts an outstanding art program for Panhandle ISD. Many of her students art work has placed in state competition.
It was noted that Ann Metcalf was top volunteer out of 23 members reporting 5,217 hours. Ann reported 692 hours. REAPS top walker was Jerilyn Laramore reporting 1,374 miles walked. A total of 4,599 miles walked were reported by members.
Officers for the 2013-14 year were elected as presented by the nominating committee of Nancy Garner, Charles Gill, and Marie Slover. Officers elected were: Ann Metcalf, president; Sandy Poteet, vice-president; Tommye Roark, secretary; Judy Sherrod, treasurer; Marie Slover, program chairman; Gary Laramore, legislative chairman; Mary Curtis, health & volunteer chairman; and Jean Miller and Jackie Wyatt, historians.
