2012 Varsity Panthers

Panhandle Panthers and the Sanford-Fritch Eagles will be participating in a scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. at Panther Stadium. The scrimmage is known as “Our Day To Shine”, and buckets will be passed during the scrimmage for people to make donations to the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation to assist athletes and coaches with special needs or hardships.

To date more than 740 schools have participated in “Our Day To Shine” and have raised over $195,000. The Texas High School Coaches Association Board of Directors has paid $139,000 to athletes and coaches with special needs, as well as a sizable donation to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

Admission to the scrimmage is free and all Panhandle residents are invited to come out and cheer on the Panthers.

“We had a good first scrimmage last week in Friona, and are looking forward to another good one this week with Fritch. Our boys are working hard and improving each day,” said Head Football Coach Ricky Peacock.
