Childress – On Tuesday, April 27, one plea took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in the Childress County Courthouse.
Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the case for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.
Misty Dawn VanAusdall, 40 from Childress, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the second degree felony offense of assault on a public servant.
VanAusdall was arrested by Childress Police Officer Timothy Pyle on May 10, 2020. She originally pleaded guilty on Nov. 4, 2020. The State filed its motion to revoke March 8, alleging eight violations of community supervision.
“In Texas, at least in our district, we punish those who assault our officers,” said Inman.
