Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Claude with Jess Little officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Claude, 200 Parks Ave.

Mushy was born March 27, 1959, in Kermit to Billie and Helen Shipp. He graduated from Claude High School. He married Linda Mullins on Aug. 29, 1977 in Amarillo. Mushy loved his children, grandchildren, roping, and bull riding at Tri-State Rodeo Association. He attended Grace Bible Community Fellowship.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Shipp of Claude; a daughter, Erica O'Dell and husband Bart of Amarillo; a son, B.J. Shipp and wife Stacey of Claude; four brothers, Willie Shipp and wife Cindy of Vega, Andy Shipp of Happy, Jeff Shipp and wife Dorisann of Alpine and Edwin Berry Shipp of Midland; two sisters, Mary Arnold and husband Randy of Dawn and Kay Cottrell of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Range Riders Rope a Cure, 4415 S. Georgia St., St. 108, Amarillo, TX 79110.

Viewing will be from noon - 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at the funeral home in Claude.
