Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Panhandle. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
The funeral service will be live-streamed from First Baptist Church facebook page. There will be a family and friends visitation at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Ellen was born on Nov. 21, 1929 in Lelia Lake, Texas to Alice Melissa (Lowery) and William Thomas Floyd. She married Luther John Wade Sr. on June 17, 1945 in Shamrock. She came with her husband to Panhandle in 1968 from Borger where they owned and operated Coast to Coast Hardware Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle. She loved to cook, sing, being around people and sending birthday cards and anniversary cards.
Preceding her in death is her parents; husband; four brothers and four sisters; daughter, Bonnie Eileen; grandsons, Kelly Lyn Goswick and Ricky Allan McGowen; granddaughters, Jamie Jo Lycan and Raelyn Hickman; and great-grandson, Tyler Cobb. Also preceding her are her sons-in-law, Mark Lycan and Richard Valenzuela.
Surviving is son, John Wade Jr. and wife Donna of Panhandle; daughters, Susan and husband Gary McGowen of Midland, Mary and husband Richard Robinson of Panhandle, Bettie Valenzuela of Childress, Jenny Wade-Lycan of Panhandle, Johna and husband Mark Figueroa of Borger; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
