Local 4-H’ers Compete In District Consumer Decision Making Contest

The District 1 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest was held on May 1, in Amarillo. Those competing for Carson County 4-H were: Jett Bradford, Kinlea Ford, Christopher McLaughlin, Hunter Thompson, Spencer Keys, Tayte Ogletree, Baylee Ogletree and Daniel Byers. Consumer Decision Making helps young adults learn consumer skills and helps strengthen their ability to reason by analyzing consumer situations.
Results are as follows for the Top 10 Junior age division finishers:
Christopher McLaughlin: 10th High Individual Overall and in Placing.
Hunter Thompson: Sixth High Individual Overall and in Placing.
Jett Bradford: Second High Individual in Reasons
Junior Team of McLaughlin, Bradford, Ford, and Thompson finished Third High Team in Reasons and Second High Team Overall and in Placing.
Two junior age division 4-H’ers moved up to compete in the Intermediate Division. Tayte Ogletree and Spencer Keys joined Baylee Ogletree and Daniel Byers in the Intermediate Age Division.
Intermediate Top 10 finishers were:
Baylee Ogletree: Ninth High Individual in Reasons; Seventh High Individual Overall and in Placing.
Daniel Byers: Eighth High Individual Overall; Sixth High Individual in Placing.
Spencer Keys: Seventh High Individual in Reasons; Third High Individual Overall; Second High Individual in Placing.
Intermediate Team of Byers, Keys and the Ogletrees finished Third High Team in Reasons; Second High Team Overall; and First High Team in Placing.
