Celebration of her life of 63 years will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the RUSTY ROSE venue, located at 107 E. First Street in Panhandle. The celebration is a come and go event.
Linda was born in Borger and grew up in Panhandle. She graduated college at North Texas State University. She lived in Dallas, Chicago, Austin and Kansas City.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar and Gilberta Overlin of Eugene, Ore., Bill and Margerite Tarbutton of Chickasha, Okla. and Herbert Eakes of Ninnekah, Okla; and her mother, Pauline Marie Overlin-Murphy of Arlington, Texas.
She is survived by her father, Earl Dean Eakes of Panhandle; brother, Jeff Eakes (Donna) of Collierville, Tenn.; her sister, Nancy Camp (William) of Arlington; stepsister, Deborah Black (Gary) of Wylie, Texas; and stepbrother, Dale Price (Dena) of Channing, Texas.
She was an aunt to Jessica Batts (Sam), Joshua Fish (Daley), Jenna Niblock (Andrew), Jared Eakes, Jason Eakes (Jessica) and Jordan Eakes; and great-aunt to Jaden Fish, EllaRose Niblock and Abigail Batts. She will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
