Clarendon – On Monday, April 22, 2019, one plea was heard in the100th Judicial District Court in the Donley County Courthouse.

District Attorney Luke Inman, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the case for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.

Russell Shane Klinnert pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication community supervision for four years for the second degree felony offense of injury to an elderly individual, enhanced.

Klinnert, 51 from Lelia Lake, Texas, was arrested by Donley County Sheriff’s Deputy Jay Logan on March 25, 2019. Klinnert pleaded to an information filed by the State on April 22, 2019.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Klinnert is required to pay a $4,000 fine, $3,500 in restitution, $488 in court costs, serve three days in the Donley County Jail as a condition of community supervision and have no contact with the victim. If Klinnert violates probation, he could face up to twenty years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
