Services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church in White Deer with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Nita was born May 1, 1932 in Conway, Texas, to Willie Sue and Floy Ketchum. She graduated from Panhandle High School in 1949 and went on to attend North Texas State University in Denton for a few years. She married Richard “Rick” Ramming on Feb. 27, 1950 in Conway. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to Rick’s passing on April 12, 2010. They made their home in White Deer in 1951. She was a member of Square House Museum, Daughters of Pioneers, White Deer Cemetery Association, White Deer Senior Citizens, United Methodist Women and WMU. Nita was very talented with her painting. She also had a love for music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. Through the years she has played at numerous churches such as First Baptist Church in White Deer, Briarwood Church in Pampa and United Methodist Church in White Deer retiring in 2015. She loved her family and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lenova Nunley and LaVerne Driskall; and two brothers, Steenie Ketchum and Don Ketchum.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Ramming of White Deer and Pam and husband Jeff Cartwright of Princeton; son, Richard Don “RD” Ramming of White Deer; eight grandchildren, Kelly Ramming, Jimmy Chaney and wife Amy, Shane Chaney, Rex Chaney and wife Debbie, Stacey Ramming and wife Kristy, Sarah and husband Jamie Burch, Josh Cartwright and Mark, and Kendra Cartwright; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
