Mr. and Mrs. Cody Crawford

Mr. and Mrs. Cody Crawford

Alyssa Grace Hobbs and Steven Cody Crawford were married, in an outdoor ceremony Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Piehl Barn in Bushland with Josh Light, pastor of First Baptist Church of Panhandle, officiating.

Parents of the bride are Gordon and Leasha Hobbs of Panhandle.

Parents of the groom are Todd and Jaquita Crawford of Panhandle.

Attending the ceremony were grandparents of the bride, Doris Hobbs of Panhandle, James and Jane Hobbs of Amarillo, and J.L. and Lynn Redwine of Panhandle, and grandmother of the groom Juanita Cato of Amarillo.

Escorted by her dad, the bride wore a strapless, A-line gown with champagne and ivory appliqued lace over light gold satin with a laced corset closure. The lace overlay featured an asymmetrical gathered satin panel wrapping across the waistline and was accented with a satin bow. Her lace hairpiece was accented by a broach that belonged to her maternal great-grandmother. The bride carried a mixed flower bouquet in various colors of roses, lilies, alstromeria and carnations wrapped with champagne colored ribbon. Carrying out the wedding traditions: something old was the broach in her hairpiece, something new was the bracelet given to her by Cody on their wedding day, something borrowed was her maternal grandmother’s bible on the unity table, something blue was the bracelet wrapped around her bouquet that was a gift from her Papa Redwine to her Grandma.

Kelly Hobbs served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Kerri Rodriguez and Citasha Hammer. They wore matching one shoulder satin dresses in dark eggplant and carried bouquets matching the brides.

Flower girls were Abigail and Hayden Lothes, twin cousins of the groom, and ring bearers were Samantha Redwine, cousin of the bride and Maddox Dowling, friend of the bride and groom. Brooke Watson, cousin of the bride, handed out bubbles and programs.

Cody wore a black tuxedo with champagne tie and vest. Terry Hobbs served as best man, Shawn Dowling and Johnathan Hammer served as groomsmen; wearing black tuxedoes with moss green vest and ties. Ushers were Justin Jasper, Cordie Redwine and Brady Hobbs, wearing black tuxedos and eggplant colored vest and ties.

The barn was decorated in a shabby chic theme with trunks, antique benches, baby pictures of the bride and groom on top of their baby quilts and wedding quotes on chalkboards. The guest tables were topped with fabric squares and tulle in the bride’s colors of eggplant and moss green featuring vases of flowers, candles, lanterns, and various “treasures and heirlooms” borrowed from family and friends of the bride and groom. Against a backdrop of hinged doors and vases of fresh flowers, the bride’s cake was decorated with champagne colored scrolled icing, pearl candy and fresh flowers featuring the cake topper from her grandparents’ wedding cake. The groom’s cake was a square layered “hummingbird cake” topped with chocolate ganache.

Pre-wedding courtesies were a Rehearsal Dinner hosted by Todd and Jaquita Crawford; a Bridal Shower hosted by Msdms. Anne Easter, Christle Brown, Jeanene Montgomery, Marilyn Dudenhoeffer, Crystal Murdock, Paula Black, Debe Land, Debora Arnold, Heather Lothes, Brenda Fields, Venita Gray and Janet Lewis and a Lingerie Shower hosted by Kelly Hobbs, Citasha Hammer and Kerri Rodriguez.

The bride is employed by Allergy A.R.T.S. in Amarillo and the groom in employed by Moosehead in Borger. The couple honeymooned in California and reside in Panhandle.
