Herman L. Leven
1940 - 2018

Herman L. Leven, 77, of Groom, died Tuesday, April 10, in Groom.

Funeral mass was held on Friday, April 13, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Groom. Arrangements were by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Herman was born Nov. 22, 1940 in Amarillo to Sophia Rose (Koetting) and Louis Henry Leven. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He married Barbara Ann Terbush on March 4, 1964 in Groom. He owned and operated the 66 Café in Groom and was a carpenter. He loved to hunt, fish and especially loved his grandkids and great-grandkids. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a stepson.

Surviving is his son, Louis Leven and wife, Sabrina, of Dumas; stepson, Duane Mansel of Amarillo; stepdaughter, Wynell and husband, Vernon Neusch of Panhandle; daughter, Rose and husband, Glen Wiginton of Groom; sisters, Alice Austin of Panhandle and Ann Mansel of Amarillo; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
