Memphis – On Thursday, April 21, two pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Hall County.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.

- Edward Christopher Silva, 54, from Sacramento, Calf., was sentenced to five years in prison for the second degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance.
Silva was arrested on April 19, 2018, by DPS Trooper Chad Baize. Silva was originally placed on six years probation on Dec. 13, 2018 and the State filed a motion asking the Court to adjudicate Silva’s probation on Aug. 18, 2021.

Silva was also ordered to pay $329 in court costs and $180 restitution.

- Dustin Dean Dann, 50, Childress, Texas, was placed on four years probation for the enhanced first degree felony offense of assault of a family member. Dann was arrested by Childress Police Officer LeRoy Rodriguez for the offense that took place Dec. 7, 2020, and was indicted by a Childress Grand Jury on July 20, 2021.

Dann was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine to Childress County, $340 in court costs, and complete 400 hours of community service. If his probation is revoked, Dann faces up to 99 years in prison.
