Gabe Barrick 1977 - 2013

Gabe Barrick
1977 - 2013

Gabe Barrick, 36, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 10, in Saint Stephen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kurt Oheim, pastor of Pinnacle Community Church, officiating. Arrangements were by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
Gabe was born July 29, 1977, in Amarillo to Bruce and Teri Wright Barrick. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University class of 2000 and worked as the chief financial officer of the family-owned commercial construction company Diversified Interiors of Amarillo.
Gabe was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He was full of life and loved his dear old Texas Aggies. Gabe always found peace on a snow-packed mountain riding his Burton snowboard while listening to Metallica. He will be sorely missed watching Texas Rangers games on the couch with his boys while holding and playing with his daughter. He loved nothing more than playing baseball with his children and taking spur-of-the moment vacations with his wife.
“Uncle Dude” will always hold a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews, and will be dearly missed by the numerous people whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Teri, and his grandparents, Charles and Arleen Wright and Melvin Sittel.
Survivors include his wife, Amber, whom he married in 2009; a daughter, Ava; two sons, Jackson and Brady; his father, Bruce and wife Debby Barrick of Fort Worth; his sisters, Amanda Long and husband Lance of Amarillo and Tamara Lane of Dallas; a brother, Barrett Lane and wife Vicky of Fort Worth; his grandparents, Leonard and wife Donna Barrick and Joan Sittel, all of Amarillo; and his nephews and nieces, Jaxson, Elijah and Shiloh Long and Staylee and Caleb Lane.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials for Gabe’s children be to Happy State Bank in care of the Barrick family.
