Cub Scout Pack 501 had four boys crossover to Boy Scouts on Jan. 14, 2019. Pictured, left to right, Justus Osborn, Lucas Couture, Logan Leisher and Landen Krogh with their leader Fred Leisher. They were awarded the Arrow of Light, which is the highest honor given to a Cub Scout. It is one of the few awards that a scout can carry over to his Boy Scout uniform.

Cub Scouts is a leader-driven program, where the leader is responsible for planning a lesson and making sure the scout advances in ranks. Some of the projects these boys have done were building rockets, making large dice using a wood burner and packing a first aid kit, just to name a few.

When they enter Boy Scouts, they shift to a boy-driven program that allows older scouts the opportunity to build leadership skills by mentoring the younger scouts. It is always excited to see these boys crossover and Pack 501 wishes them the best on their journey to Eagle Scout.
