Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, prosecuted the case for the State of Texas with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.
Clifford Eugene Dunn was convicted for the third degree felony offense of driving while intoxicated and sentenced to three years in TDCJ, Institutional Division. Dunn pleaded guilty to a complaint filed by the State on Oct. 3, 2012.
Dunn was arrested in Carson County for the offense that took place July 14, 2012 after Trooper Trevor Dillard and Assistant Chief of Panhandle Police Taner Blackburn conducted a pursuit of the vehicle.
“Many agencies were involved in this pursuit where this defendant put citizens at risk that night,” Inman said. “Carson County is fortunate to have experienced officers at the state, county, and city levels and everyone involved did an excellent job of keeping the roadways safe.”
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Dunn is required to pay a $1,000 fine to Carson County, $465 in court costs, and $1,340 in restitution
