Childress County District Court Hears 10 Pleas

Childress – On Thursday, April 9, 2015, 10 pleas took place in Childress County, Texas.
Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, assisted by Greg Buckley, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.
1. Becky Marie Martinez pleaded true to allegations listed in the State’s Motion to Adjudicate Guilt and was sentenced to 14 months in the State Jail Division of Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance.
On June 5, 2014, 34-year-old Smith originally pleaded guilty to offense that occurred on March 28, 2014, in Childress County.
The State filed the motion on Feb. 24, 2015, alleging nine violations of community supervision.
Martinez is also required to pay $400.50 in court costs to Childress County, a $250 fine, and $180 lab fee.
2. Jeffrey Glenn Chadwick was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Chadwick pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Chadwick, 46-year-old resident of Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Jan. 1, 2015 by Childress Police Officer Todd Gambol. Chadwick pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Chadwick is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Chadwick violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
3. April Nicole Wilks was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Wilks pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Wilks, 20-year-old resident of Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Dec. 17, 2014 by DPS Trooper Chris Casey. Wilks pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Wilks is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Wilks violates probation, she could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
4. Laurie Jean Crider was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Crider pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Crider, 41-year-old resident of Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Dec. 17, 2014 by Casey. Crider pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.

5. Kyre Brown was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Brown pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Brown, 37-year-old resident of Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place September 22, 2014 by DPS Trooper Chad Baize. Brown pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.

6. Jason Tyron Brown-Brannon was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Brown pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Brown, 24-year-old resident of Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Jan. 7, 2015 by Childress Police Sergeant Jerrald Johnson. Brown pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Brown-Brannon is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Brown-Brannon violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
7. Andrew Heafer Fickett was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2. Fickett pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Fickett, 35-year-old resident of Los Angeles, Calif., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Dec. 21, 2014 by Childress Sheriff Deputy and K-9 Unit Kenneth Arant. Fickett pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Fickett is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Fickett violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
8. Jessie Lynn Carter was placed on probation for a period of three years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Carter pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Carter, 28-year-old resident of Ball, La., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Jan. 22, 2015 by Casey. Carter pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Carter is required to pay a $2,500 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Carter violates probation, she could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
9. Rick Dillion Davis was placed on probation for a period of three years for the third degree felony offense of possession of marijuana. Davis pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Davis, 24-year-old resident of Sacramento, Calif., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place Jan. 6, 2015 by Childress Police Officer and K-9 Unit Coy Teichelman. Davis pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 5, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Davis is required to pay a $3,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 200 hours of community service. If Davis violates probation, he could face up to 10 years in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.
10. Everett Demond Green was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Green pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.
Green, 36-year-old resident of Amarillo, was arrested in Hall County for the offense that took place Dec. 18, 214 by DPS Trooper Justin Dillman, and pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 6, 2015.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Green is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Hall County, $381 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Green violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
