Carolyn Hanover
1946 - 2021

Carolyn Hanover, 74 of Skellytown passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, in Pampa.

Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Skellytown with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Carolyn was born Nov. 30, 1946 in Pampa to Opal and O.L. Presley. She graduated from Lefors High School in 1965 and attended Weatherford Junior College in Weatherford, Okla. Carolyn married the love of her life, Raymond Hanover, on April 23, 1971 in Lefors. They moved to Skellytown in 1978. She worked in Pampa as a teller for several banks before going to work at Skel-Tex Credit Union in Skellytown. Carolyn worked there for many years before retiring in the early 1990s. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Skellytown. Carolyn enjoyed reading, traveling, and was a dog lover. She loved spending time with her family, but what brought her the most joy was being “Grandma” to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond of the home; two daughters, Lindy Forsyth of Lefors and Kim and husband Casey Campbell of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, Dustin Forsyth and wife Alicia, Gracie Campbell, Christine Campbell, Derek Campbell, Carson Campbell, Kitana Campbell, Kathryn Campbell, and Stormy Campbell; two great grandchildren, Eli Forsyth and Brynn Forsyth.
