Bob was born July 6, 1934 near Groom, Texas. He attended Groom high school. In his younger days, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping for extended periods of time. He was known as a private person, but steadily took care of business and performed his chosen profession as a refrigeration mechanic for Coca-Cola until retirement. Bob lived a simple life and was known for his patience with the birds and squirrels he fed daily in his yard. He was even able to feed the squirrels as they were sitting on his shoulder. Neighborhood kids loved and respected Mr. Bob, who was also known as the Coke Man, as they would come to his house just to play basketball at his goal. He enjoyed so much just sitting in his swing watching them and all that was happening in the neighborhood.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Clarice and Guy Brown; wife, Ina; brother, Fred Brown; and sister, Berneal Brown.
Survivors include his two daughters, Bobbie and husband Kerry Webb of Amarillo, and Pam and husband Greg Miester of Comanche, OK; sister, Bernice Robertson of Big Sandy, Texas; sister-in-law, Erma Britten of White Deer; grandson,s Jon Meister, Russell Webb, Jeff Meister, Brady Webb; and granddaughter Trisha Myers, along with 10 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Bob’s name to Boys Ranch or Don Harrington Cancer Center.
