Richard Lee Milford
1942 - 2020

Raymond Lee Milford, 78 of Panhandle, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Family Worship Center for a small family gathering. A larger gathering will be in Spring of 2021 to be announced.

Raymond was born on Aug. 28, 1942 in Amarillo to Ella Marie Holt and Carl Milford. He attended Amarillo schools throughout his childhood and attended Amarillo High School. He married Nina Roach in 1959 and was married to her until her passing in 2003 from cancer. They were ages 14 and 17 when they decided to marry and were together for 44 years.

He worked as a truck driver for several different companies starting with Panhandle Fruits, then working for Plains Dairy and lastly, Walmart before retiring. After retiring he drove a belly dumper for Howell Sand and Gravel while also working part-time at Walmart, where he met Marilyn Milford.

He married Marilyn in 2008 and during their time together they worked as crossing guards for Amarillo ISD and delivered phone books all around Amarillo. Raymond was a man of many talents and loved to build with wood. He remodeled Marilyn’s 100-year-old house until he became blind with his third stroke.

Raymond was also a very faithful man. He and Nina attend several different Baptist churches during their time together and he and Marilyn belonged to Family Worship Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nina Milford; brother, Vernon Milford; and his granddaughter, Morgan Milford.

He is survived by his children, Chris Milford and his wife Tricia of Amarillo, Craig Milford and his wife Doris of El Paso, Texas, Cindy and her husband David Rivers of Bastrop, Texas and Cheryl and her husband Shayne Herpich of Houston; his stepchildren, Melvin Coey of Wichita Falls, Matthew Coey and wife Lisa of Alice, Texas, Mickey Coey and his wife Deanna of Amarillo, Monica and her husband Oren Mead of Amarillo, Maureen McMasters of Ozark, Mo., and Mona and her husband Gary Decker of Panhandle; grandchildren, Joshua Milford, Ryan Milford, and Chase Rivers; 18 step-grandchildren; great-grandchild, Willow May Rivers; and 44 step-great-grandchildren.
