Linda Hawley, 66, of White Deer, passed away on March 6, 2020 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Andy Taylor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Linda was born on Sept. 8, 1953 in Morenci, Ariz. to Sylvia and Lyle Reynolds. She grew up and attended school in Arizona and later graduated from Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, Ariz. Shortly after graduating school, she moved to Stephenville, Texas living there briefly before moving to the Texas Panhandle, living in Allison and then making her permanent home in White Deer. Linda worked as a nail technician for many years before starting to work in education. She worked for White Deer Independent School District and the Pampa Independent School District as a bus driver, career that brought her much joy, because she loved and cared deeply for all the children she helped transport.
Linda loved the cowgirl and rodeo way of life, where she competed as a barrel racer and helped volunteer at the rodeos. She was a member of White Deer Riding Club for several years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister and friend.
Her survivors include her son, Hayden Hawley of Elk City, Okla.; two grandsons, Hazin Hawley and Rhaedon Cruz both of Shamrock; a granddaughter, Timberlyn Hawley of Carter, Okla.; a sister, Verda and husband Lee Behner of Tucson; a nephew, Ed Oliver of Tucson; three great-nephews, Tyler Oliver of Washington, D.C., Matthew Oliver and Jacob Oliver, both of Marana, Ariz.; and by other extended family.
