Childress– On Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, 15 pleas took place in Childress County, Texas.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, assisted by Greg Buckley, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.

1. Jonathan Ross Hooten was convicted for the class a misdemeanor offense of unlawful possession of a criminal instrument.

Hooten, 33, from Burleson, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on March 8, 2015, by Childress County Deputy and K-9 Unit Kenneth Arant. Hooten pleaded to an information filed by the State on April 20, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Hooten was required to pay an upfront fine of $3,000 fine to Childress County, upfront court costs of $334, and upfront restitution of $180.

2. Jessica Gene Rossiter was placed on probation for a period of two years for the class a misdemeanor offense of unlawful possession of a criminal instrument. Rossiter pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Rossiter, 21, from Sacramento, Calif., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on Sept. 24, 2014, by DPS Trooper Justin Dillman. Rossiter pleaded to an information filed by the State on April 22, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Rossiter was required to pay an upfront fine of $4,000 fine to Childress County, upfront court costs of $334, and an upfront restitution of $180, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Rossiter violates probation, she could face up to one year in the Childress County Jail.

3. Trevon Dimitri Shaquel Stormer was placed on probation for a period of two years for the class a misdemeanor offense of possession of marijuana. Stormer pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Stormer, 22, from Lawton, OK, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on March 29, 2015, by Arant. Stormer pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Stormer is required to pay an upfront fine of$4,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Stormer violates probation, he could face up to one year in the Childress County Jail.

4. Gloria Parrino was placed on probation for a period of three years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Parrino pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Parrino, 34, from Albuquerque, N.M., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on March 16, 2015, by DPS Trooper Chris Casey. Parrino pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Parrino is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, a $500 transfer fee, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Parrino violates probation, she could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.

5. Morgan Dewey Pelton was convicted for third degree felony offense of possession of marijuana and sentenced to two years in the Institutional Division of TDCJ.

Pelton, 26, from Bedford, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on June 5, 2015, by Arant. Pelton pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Pelton is required to pay $329 in court costs and $180 restitution.

6. Patru Dan Dumitru was placed on probation for a period of six years for the second degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Dumitru pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Dumitru, 19, from Colorado Springs, Colo., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on March 19, 2015, by Casey. Dumitru pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Dumitru is required to pay a $6,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, a $500 transfer fee, $180 in restitution, and successfully complete 300 hours of community service. If Dumitru violates probation, he could face up to 20 years in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

7. Emily Olson was placed on probation for a period of three years for the third degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Olson pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Olson, 19, from Colorado Springs, Colo., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on March 19, 2015, by Casey. Olson pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Olson is required to pay a $3,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, a $500 transfer fee, $180 in restitution, and successfully complete 200 hours of community service. If Olson violates probation, she could face up to 10 years in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

8. Melanie Lynn Lawrence was placed on probation for a period of ten years for the first degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Lawrence was convicted to ten years in the Institutional Division of TDCJ, but the sentence was probated for a period of ten years for the offense.

Lawrence, 49, from Glendale, Ariz., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on Sept. 8, 2014, by Childress Police Officer Coy Teichelman. Lawrence pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Lawrence is required to pay a $10,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, a $500 transfer fee, and successfully complete 400 hours of community service. If Lawrence violates probation, she could face up to 99 years or life in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

9. Mark Norman Henderson was placed on probation for a period of ten years for the first degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Henderson was convicted to ten years in the Institutional Division of TDCJ, but the sentence was probated for a period of ten years for the offense.

Henderson, 53, from Avendale, Ariz., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on Sept. 8, 2014, by Teichelman. Lawrence pleaded to an information filed by the State on June 26, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Henderson is required to pay a $10,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, a $500 transfer fee, and successfully complete 400 hours of community service. If Henderson violates probation, he could face up to 99 years or life in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

10. Robin Lynn Lore, pleaded true to allegations listed in the State’s Motion to Adjudicate and was sentenced to six years in the Institution Division of TDCJ for the third degree felony offense of tampering with physical evidence.

On May 12, 2014, Lore, from Fort Worth, originally pleaded to the charges from the Sept. 29, 2013 arrest in Hall County.

The State filed the motion to adjudicate on May 14, 2015, alleging seven violations of community supervision.
Lore is also required to pay $381 in court costs to Hall County, a $500 fine, and $661.94 restitution.

11. Cassandra Leann Longoria was placed on probation for a period of two years for the third degree felony offense of enticing a child. Longoria pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Longoria, 20, from Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on May 15, 2014, by DPS Texas Ranger Bo Brown. Longoria pleaded to an information filed by the State on Aug. 5, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Longoria is required to pay a $500 fine to Childress County, $269 in court costs, and successfully complete 200 hours of community service. If Longoria violates probation, she could face up to 10 years in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

12. Megan Kathleen Kelley, pleaded true to allegations listed in the State’s Motion to Adjudicate and was sentenced to 12 months in the State Jail Division of TDCJ for the state jail felony offense of engaging in organized criminal activity.

On Nov. 3, 2014, Kelley, from Frederick, Okla., originally pleaded to the charges from the Aug. 15, 2014 offense in Childress County.

The State filed the motion to adjudicate on June 18, 2015, alleging six violations of community supervision.
Kelley is also required to pay $400.50 in court costs to Childress County, a $500 fine, and $1,861.42 restitution.

13. Gena Marie Holmes was placed on probation for a period of three years for the third degree felony offense of prohibited substance in a correctional facility. Holmes pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Holmes, 23, from Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on June 17, 2015 by Childress Police Officer Pauline Gambol. Holmes pleaded to an information filed by the State on August 20, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Holmes is required to pay a $3,000 fine to Childress County, $269 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 200 hours of community service. If Holmes violates probation, she could face up to 10 years in the Institutional Division of the TDCJ.

14. Stavontae Gilliard was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Gilliard pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Gilliard, 21, from Casper, Wy., was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on June 20, 2015, by Arant. Gilliard pleaded to an information filed by the State on Aug. 20, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Gilliard is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $269 in court costs, a $500 transfer fee, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Gilliard violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.

15. Mark Anthony Vasquez, Jr. was placed on probation for a period of two years for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Vasquez pleaded guilty and was placed on deferred adjudication for the offense.

Vasquez, 21, from Childress, was arrested in Childress County for the offense that took place on June 23, 2015, by Gambol. Vasquez pleaded to an information filed by the State on Aug. 20, 2015.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, Vasquez is required to pay a $2,000 fine to Childress County, $329 in court costs, $180 restitution, and successfully complete 100 hours of community service. If Vasquez violates probation, he could face up to two years in the State Jail Division of the TDCJ.
