"Pa" James Q. Elder

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 11, in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Hal Smith officiating. Arrangements were by Memorial Park Funeral Home of Amarillo.

Pa loved to stay busy, whether it was with hunting, fishing, gardening or tinkering. Pa loved to spend time with his family. He was a member of North Seminole Church of Christ. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth and a daughter, Carol Lemmons.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Reed and husband Benjamin Sr. of Amarillo; a son, Michael Elder and wife Tena of Panhandle; a son-in-law, Douglas Lemmons of Amarillo; a sister, Laverne Porterfield; 16 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
