Carrol Lee Bentley, 71, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, in Hillside Christian Church Chapel, West Campus, 6100 S. Soncy Road with Brad Bentley and Mike Nuthman officiating. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery in Panhandle. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Carrol “C.L.” Bentley was born May 17, 1945 in Amarillo to Helen and B.K. Bentley. C.L. grew up in Panhandle, Texas, where he graduated from Panhandle High School in 1963. He attended West Texas State University on a football scholarship.

He married Marilyn Rogers of Panhandle on Jan. 30, 1965 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage. C.L. farmed and ranched west of Panhandle until 1988. He founded Bentley’s Auction Service in 1979.

C.L. enjoyed spending time working at the Auction business in both Amarillo and Albuquerque. He was also a very active part of his six grand-joys lives.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; four sons, Neil and wife Dawn, Bradley and wife Deedra, Cory and wife Jaime, all of Amarillo, and Jeffrey of Albuquerque, N.M.; and six grand-joys, Lauren, Barek, Paige, Taylor, Brandon and Brooklyn; three siblings, Gene Bentley and wife Gabina of Anna, Texas, Bennita Skidmore and husband Bob of Miami, Texas and Ben Bentley and wife Pam of Canyon, Texas along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Khiva Shrine Children’s Travel Fund, 305 SE 5th Ave, Amarillo TX 79101.

Frances Ann Sinclair, 72, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with Rev. Randy Thomas and Rev. Dr. Jerry Lane. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle or to the Lynette Gabel-Wright Memorial Scholarship at Panhandle High School, PO Box 1030, Panhandle Texas 79068.

Frances was born Nov. 26, 1943 in Amarillo to Mary Madelyn Bennett Metcalf and Frank Andrew Metcalf. She enjoyed sewing. As her daughters were growing up, she made all of their clothes. Frances also enjoyed quilting. She made a quilt for the First United Methodist Church every year for the past 24 years. She was also a volunteer for Garretson Retirement Center. Nothing brought more joy to her life than being with her family. She would request that everyone come home for the holidays.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Floyd Metcalf.

Survivors include her husband, Erskine of Panhandle; sons, Devin Sinclair and wife Mandy of Panhandle, Brett Sinclair of Amarillo, Earl Sinclair and wife Dyanne of Panhandle; daughters, Michelle Mayfield and husband Ty of Amarillo, Holley Williamson and husband Scott of Corpus Christi, Brenda Sinclair of Panhandle, Jennifer Marlar and husband Jeff of Pampa; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Gabel of Panhandle.

Jimmy Austin, of Panhandle, died Nov. 2, 2016.

Rosary will be at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle, located at FM 293 and Highway 60. Celebration of life services will be from Noon – 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at the VFW Hall located at 1201 Park in Panhandle.

Jimmy was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Altus, Okla. to Guy and Hazel Austin. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1956, then served in the Army reserves and started his postal career in 1959. He married Alice Leven in 1959 in Groom, Texas. They have been married for 57 years. He served as Postmaster in Panhandle and Fritch and held many positions throughout his postal career. He greatly enjoyed helping others to find their potential and helping them to succeed. Jimmy retired as Postmaster in Fritch in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Hazel Austin and his sister Mary Hunter.

He is survived his wife, Alice; his three children, Alicia Rose, Cathy Smith and Steve and wife Bernie Austin; seven grandchildren, Jason George, Josh George, Jarrod George, Greg Smith, Michael Smith, Trina Vaughn and Eryn Austin; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to Dr. Nadeson and staff at Harrington Cancer Center and the nursing staff of BSA oncology floor and CCU for the care and concern showed during this time.
